Coordinating with the Chantelle for this event and painting was a breeze. She had a clear vision, and was able to express it, complete with example photos, and venue and dress previews — all the visual inspiration that makes my job flow smoothly! Held at the beautiful Condors Nest Ranch in Pala, California, the day, the crowd, and the love in the air were all a total dream.
This was the first piece where I made the choice to work on site in acrylics as usual, but finish the piece in the studio with oils. The luminous dreamscape scene just demanded that softer richness that oils bring. This piece is likely the trigger for a new hybrid media approach to live paintings with studio completion.
